Thinking about God reduces distress, study finds

It seems to me that the call to service/ministry, which we all experience, is both a call to peace AND a call to stress & pressure. Jesus experienced this both physically (Luke 8:45) and emotionally (Luke 12:50). Should we expect that God's presence in our lives (or ours in God's) would remove this stress?
Is this simply a psychological byproduct of faith? Or can we count on declining distress in our lives as we 'think' about God?
