Transformative Partnerships
Creative, entrepreneurial, big-picture but personal, compassionate people like this TOTALLY get me excited. I LOVE this kind of thinking, this kind of wacky teamwork that creates, and creates a better world. Think about that term: 'transformative partnerships'... it's a fantastically inspiring, multi-faceted phrase-- a tickle trunk of soaring ideas. The possibilities are endless. Isn't this what should characterize followers (disciples) of Jesus? Education, creativity, commitment, partnership, compassion, mercy, transformation, laughter, inspiration, love....what other ethic drives the Kingdom of God!!
With spellbinding eagerness, Dave Eggers talks about how his 826 Valencia tutoring center inspired others around the world to open their own volunteer-driven, wildly creative writing labs. But you don’t need to go that far, he reminds us — it’s as simple as asking a teacher “How can I help?” He asks that we share our own volunteering stories at his new website, Once Upon a School.
It runs about 24 minutes so, sit back, relax, and be inspired. And then...
Okay, this is American Idol, AMERICAN IDOL...get the irony.
What you're about to see below, actually happened last night after about two hours of focusing on 'giving back' (read: caring for 'the least of these')! Is this just a 'Gospel' song, or, do people understand the ethic of Jesus' kingdom?
Oh such irony, such tasty irony. Did I mention this is American IDOL? People who are in a competition to win, so that they will make tons-o-money, and have their lives changed, who will (or have already) become fabulously wealthy and famous ... are singing "NOTHING COMPARES to the promise I have in you."
